Sometimes you just have to talk about the tea!

One of the things we like about shopping small is that you really get to know the sellers and the sale becomes more personal! Recently I ordered a scarf/shawl on Etsy from Flora and the Wolf  it is a super cute vintage shop that you should defiantly checkout! (You can also check them out on instagram @floraandthewolf ) . When I ordered the scarf/ shawl it came with a small handwritten note and a single packet of tea, it was the cutest thing! ( see photos below for the packaging and what the shawl looks like )

It was no shock that I fell in love with the shawl right away but what was a shock to me was how much I loved the tea! Now I have been a big tea lover ever since I was a pre-teen, and with all the tea I have tried I had never hear of the tea brand called  Pukka. I fell in love with this tea the moment I took my first sip, I so badly wanted to try  other flavors but I soon found that we did not sell this brand of tea around me, so I took to the internet to find out more about this tea and what I found made me love it even more.

Here is a little bit about Pukka:

Our name Pukka comes from an Indian word that means genuine, authentic and top quality. When our founders Tim and Sebastian set up Pukka, they wanted to reach as many people as possible to connect them with the wonders of plants. They also wanted to create a business that would bring benefit to everyone they came into contact with. Pukka is all about using business as a force for good, creating circles of benevolence so that people, plants and the planet can all benefit.

They are members of  1% For the Planet :

Big journeys are made of small steps. As passionate members of 1% for the Planet, we give 1% of our turnover to environmental and social causes. It’s part of our own campaign for positive change. Just by buying our incredible organic tea and wellbeing supplements, you are helping to care for this beautiful earth. You buy, we give back. So thank you to every Pukka customer – together we are doing something really special.

They are certified  Fair for Life:

How often do you look into your cup of tea and ask “who grew these herbs?” Probably not very often, but don’t worry – at Pukka we have that covered. Behind every cup of tea and herbal supplement there are people growing, picking, testing, blending, packing and delivering each root and leaf.

We want everyone involved to benefit from working with us, so we have worked hard over the years to pioneer new ways to ensure that we’re making a genuine contribution to global equality, poverty and the environment by pioneering ethical trade.

That is why all our teas meet the exacting Fair for Life standard – the gold standard in fair and ethical trade. Fair for Life is one of the fairest, most equitable and transparent fair trade systems in the world.

You’ll see the Fair for Life logo on all our packs of tea. This is a guarantee that at least 20% (and often far more) of the herbs in each tea blend are grown on Fair for Life certified farms, or on farms certified to an equivalently high fair standard. You’ll always be able to spot the certified ingredients, as well as the overall percentage they represent on our packaging.

Their teas and supplements are certified organic by the Soil Association

In the face of climate change, rising diet-related ill-health and widespread declines in our wildlife, the need to produce healthy food, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and protect wildlife grows more acute by the year. There’s no magic bullet to tackle the challenges that face us, but the buying decisions we make every day are a simple but powerful form of direct action. That’s why all our teas and supplements are certified organic by the Soil Association – a guarantee that when you buy Pukka you are making a little difference to people, plants and planet.

They are certified as a B-Company: Using Business as a force of good:

Our founders, Tim and Sebastian, started Pukka over 15 years ago with the aim of doing good through commerce. From the moment they first met, they quickly discovered a shared passion for finding a better way of doing business. So when the B Corporation movement landed on UK shores, we were quick to get involved – becoming certified as a B Company in the first UK cohort in 2016.

Annnndddd they are a certified business with Fairfield Conservation:

There’s an old Hindu proverb that says, “Help your brother’s boat across, and your own will reach the shore”. In many ways, this wisdom captures the very essence of FairWild.

With one in five wild plant species under threat from over-harvesting and habitat loss, the need for change has never been greater.

The FairWild certification is about protecting the magic of wild plant species and the beauty of their natural habitats, whilst respecting deeply rooted traditions and cultures and helping support the livelihoods of the communities that depend on them.

For us here at Pukka, FairWild is an exciting and essential initiative – it allows us to strengthen our relationships with the incredible collectors who work hard to bring the power of herbs to others. But, just as importantly, FairWild gives our customers a unique opportunity to join this ‘virtuous circle’ simply by enjoying teas blended with incredible FairWild herbs.

I won’t lie, this tea company is by far one of my new favorite companies, it is clear that this company is not just about tea, they are all about the planet, helping others and the health of others! I know it’s a bit random to have a whole post about a tea company but I think you guys are starting to understand why I felt the need to share about this company and once you try the teas I think you will fall in love with the delicious flavors just like I did! There are so many different flavors to try but right now my two favorites are Womankind and Blackcurrant Beauty. I hope you all check this awesome tea out, if you do make sure you share your thoughts and what your favorite flavors are!

*As of right now Pukka does not ship to the USA but you can buy it off of Amazon! Or Maybe you can get a relative or friend to send you some in a care package!

Make sure to check out for more info about the company and to check out all the awesome teas they have!
