Christmas season offers so many amazing moments. I believe that many moments have food in the picture. Here are four of my favorite holiday recipes to share with your loved ones, or to enjoy by yourself.
*Santa Hat Cheesecake Bites
Ingredients:-8 oz. cream cheese softened-1/4 cup powdered sugar-2/3 cup heavy cream-1 package of cheesecake pudding-1 package of chocolate dessert cups-12 strawberries
Instructions:Combine all ingredients except strawberries and chocolate cups. Beat on high until light and fluffy. Fill chocolate cups with the cheesecake filling. Cut the tops off the strawberries and place one on each cup. Put a little dab of the cheesecake filling on the top of the strawberry. Yummy!
Ingredients:-1/2 cup popcorn kernels-2 tbsp. canola oil-Salt-1/4 cup butter-3 cups mini marshmallows-Green food coloring-1/2 cup mini marshmallows-M&M candies – red
Instructions:Make some popcorn on the stove – it’s easy and worth it. Pour canola oil in bottom of medium to large pan. On medium/high heat add popcorn kernels. Once popped, add desired amount of salt. Melt butter in a medium sauce pan then add 3 cups of mini marshmallows, once melted, turn off heat. Add green food coloring. Slowly pour this mixture over the popcorn. Just do a little bit at a time since it can be very sticky. Then pour the popcorn onto an aluminum foiled cookie sheet. Drizzle a little of the marshmallow mixture on top – do not mix. Add the rest of the marshmallows and M&Ms to the popcorn and let it cool. Yummy!
*Mint White Hot Chocolate. :By The Gracious Wife
Ingredients:-2 cups milk-2 cups half & half-1 bag of white chocolate chips-1 tsp. vanilla extract-1 tsp. peppermint extract-Food coloring (optional)-Mini Marshmallows for the top (optional)
Instructions:In a large pot, combine milk and half & half. Heat on medium/high heat until steamy, but not boiling. Stir in the white chocolate chips until chocolate is completely melted. Mixture should be creamy. Stir in vanilla and peppermint extract and food coloring. Add some marshmallows on top and enjoy. Yummy!
*Bailey’s Chocolate MousseBy Lemon Tree Dwelling
-2 tsp. unflavored gelatin-2 tbsp. cold water-1/4 cup boiling water-1/2 cup sugar-2 tbsp. cocoa powder -1 ½ cup cold heavy cream-1/2 cup cold Bailey’s -1 tsp. vanilla
Instructions: Sprinkle gelatin over cold water in small bowl; stir and let stand 1 minute to soften. Add boiling water; stir until gelatin is completely dissolved. Let stand to cool.*Before preparing mousse, prep bowl and beaters by placing in the freezer for 15 minutes to chill.*Stir together sugar and cocoa in small mixing bowl; add heavy cream. Beat at medium speed until stiff peaks form; gradually pour in Bailey’s, vanilla, and gelatin mixture, beating continuously at high speed until well-blended and soft peaks form. Spoon into serving dishes and place in refrigerator to chill. (*For a faster setting mousse, chill bowls before filling.) Chill 1 hour or until ready to serve.
