When I first moved to Buffalo, I struggled to find a good “comfort place”. A place that would remind me of home, but would also bring parts of my new life together as one. It took quite a while to find just the right spot. My family is from the area, but I wasn’t looking for a place that I was already familiar with, I was looking for a place away from what I already knew. Finally, one night my roommate Katie and I went out for a Girls Night Out. We went to explore the city, and that’s when we found SPOT Coffee. I was instantly drawn to the layout. It reminded me of “The Bronze” in Buffy (the Vampire Slayer), only it was a little less club like and a little bit more of a 70’s coffee hangout. I wasn’t too familiar with ordering coffee, because I had mostly drank tea up to that point. I was still on the fence with my relationship with coffee. Katie, on the other hand, is a HUGE coffee lover! Thankfully, SPOT had a lot to offer for the both of us. Since my first visit, SPOT has opened a few new locations and I am a huge fan of all of them. I have to say one of my favorite things about SPOT is that they infuse their love for the city with their love for art, music, and coffee. It makes for a fantastic blend. Each time I come back to visit Buffalo, I make sure to visit SPOT. It’s like I am visiting family!
